I am looking for SunPHIGS example source code. Preferably code using only SunTool (portable across most platforms) workstations. Lots of 3D code needed, would like to make a 3D object editor. Any code in "C" would be great. Thanks in advance. Douglas Phillipson (EG&G) Las Vegas NV

I am currently using Sun-core running under 3/60, SUN OS 4.0 with monochrome monitor. We are interested in changing the software to Sun-Phigs, please advise us whether there will be any equipment changes(like color monitor, SUN OS 4.03......) Please direct all suggestions to patyuen@delta.eecs.nwu.edu Thanks!

We are currently running SunPHIGS 1.1 on Sun 3/(50 & 60) (SunOS 4.0.3) with
both b/w and color. Our Sun 3/50 and 3/60 don't have grphc accells.
SunPHIGS works nicely on our Sparcs with gx-cards though. I've also ran
SunPHIGS under SunOS 4.1 without any problems. I don't think you need
any extra hardware, but it helps. Swap can kill; We have four Sun3/60
with gx-cards and 6 Sun3/50-bw that are diskless in one lab serving
off of a Sun4/110. They could use more memory for less swap. The
executables seem to be on the large size, although I haven't used
any other graphics modeling packeage except SunPHIGS. For me the
average is about 250K, but the SunPHIGS on-line-tutorial (which is
very helpful in my opinion) has a 1.47Mb (Sun4) executable. Both of
which are linked dynamically.
SunPHIGS will only support certain options that do depend on your
systems congifuration, but will do most funtions on generic systems.
I'll dig out the tech manuals when I go to work on Thursday. Hope
this information helps though.
