Hello Readers, In volume 3.3 of the RT News, Eric Haines talks about his ordered copy of Andrew Glassner's Graphics Gems book. Does anyone have the ISBN number for the book? Can it be ordered from Academic Press like Andy's other book (Intro to RT)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. As for the new Foley, it is quite good. The readability was increased by 100% over the first version. I found the chapter on geometric transformations particularly interesting because of the ordering change of the multiplication of the transformation matrix and the position vector. The reasoning was quite lucid. It needed to be since the ordering reversed the notation used in the previous version. The only qualms I have are the quick overviews provided by the later chapters and the inclusion of the math as an appendix. The math in the appendix should have its own early chapter and be expanded (a la F.S. Hill). The later chapters should be expanded at the expense of the hardware and SGP chapters, or dropped in lieu of saving space. Jeffry Nimeroff Computer Science Department Boston University .nosig
