It depends on which file(s) output by Wavefront you are interested in. If I remember correctly, the outputs of Model, Image, and Medit are publicly available, but that of Preview is not. I may have this wrong, but it's something like this. Your best bet is to contact Wavefront and ask them. As far as conversion utilities, they have a catalog for this purpose. It contains a hundred pages or so of third party products available for use with Wavefront. Many of these are conversions from or to Wavefront.
