I am just reading the book by Ma:rtti Mantyla:, "An Introduction to Solid Modeling", Computer Science Press, 1988 (a: stands for umlaut a) It contains a lot of C-code for implementing the Euler operators and other geometric modeling operations built on top of the Euler operators. I am thinking of building some modified version of this published code, and extend it to some do-it-yourself program for solid modeling. I am pretty sure that I am not the first and not the last who wants to reinvent the wheel. So: Does anyone know if there is public domain software available for this kind of solid modeling? I am also interested in public domain software for surface modeling, using B-spline or weighted Bezier methods. My other question is concerning the PHIGS standard. Is there a newer book available that really makes PHIGS a little more transparent? So far I just have the Reference Manual and some obsolete sources which refer to very early versions of it. Thank you in advance for any hints. Reiner Wilhelms Please send e-mail, I want to make sure that I don't miss any answer.
