I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has managed to computerize any aspects of aerial photography, and/or any other newsgroups that may be applicable to this topic. Specific interests at the moment are: 1) Machine type and software used to store the photo index and whether or not it can import any data gleaned from the government (ie: USGS data) 2) Enlarger and/or contact printer automation (in part or in full). I'd presume that the same stepper motors used for motion control would be useful for setting the enlarger (anybody want to tell me where to look for them?) 3) Digitizing info - low end estimates are 5G @ 50 dpi b&w at the moment with color to be implemented soon. Does anybody do stereo digital viewing at the moment? 4) Related to digitizing would be the correlating of a photo to known measurements (ie: quads) in order to electronically eliminate distortion due to plane/camera tilt, perspective effects, etc. 5) Also related to digitizing would be the conversion of stereo images to a 3d database EMail preferred (send to fweed@nyx.cs.du.edu if it bounces) ******************************* Siggy says : ****************************** He who has a shady past knows that nice guys finish last. ***************************************************************************** Frank P.
