[comp.graphics] Mac PICT2 specs

bruce@archive.rtp.dg.com (Bruce Kahn) (06/26/90)

You can FTP the specs from apple.com [130.43.2.2] from the /pub/dts/mac
directory (or wherever it is under /pub). If you can not FTP from your
site, let me know and Ill see if I can get them for you and post them or
mail them to you (our outbound mail is very very flaky still).

The PICT2 file format, PackBits (i.e. MacPaint file format), and
32-bt QuickDraw are all documented in Apple technical Notes, which
you can get from your Apple Technical Support Person. The operator
at (408) 996-1010 should be able to steer you toward him.

The hardest thing to implement on other machines is writing out
the PixMap data structure, which is not long-aligned,
and causes problems on machines with longword-alignment requirements.
