I don't follow a recipe, but this is a close approximation:
2 lb. ground beef
1/4 C bread crumbs or cracker crumbs or 2 slices of bread, soaked in water
and shredded
2 T catsup
1 t worcestershire sauce
1 or 2 eggs
1/2 t dried crushed basil or 2-3 leaves fresh basil chopped fine
2 sprigs fresh parsley, chopped fine
1/2 small onion chopped fine
1 clove garlic, minced very fine
dash of cayenne or tabasco sauce
black pepper to taste
Mix a ingredients lighly. Using a meat fork works best. Shape into a
loaf and cook on a cookie sheet or broiler pan at 350 for 1 hour 15 min.
or a little longer if you don't want it pink. This can also be glazed
(before baking) with a mixture of catsup and worcestershire sauce.
