I am working on a project that uses a camera that takes pictures illuminated by mains lighting. Unfortunately the camera is not "synced" to the mains so bars of varying intensity appear in the image. The causes problems when I perform inter-frame differencing to achieve compression of a sequence of transmitted images. Does anyone know of any proven techniques to counteract this effect (ie some form of normalisation) and where references to them may be found ? Thanks, Henry Bruce.
