Details of the rare Steely Dan concert: It was at Avery Fisher Hall on April 3, 1974. They were warmup to ELO. They did a few of their (future?) hits. I remember being slightly disappointed in their performance, as I was looking forward to them as much as the headliner, but overall it was a good performance for a warmup group. I had 3rd row center seats, but had much of my view obstructed by the piano. The program listed the musicians as follows: Donald Fagen & Walter Becker (of course) Dave Palmer Jeff Baxter (peddle steel) James Hodden (drums) Denny Dias (guitar) Does anyone else know of other Steely Dan concerts? - Tom Beres (...!duke!mcnc!rlgvax!tom)

I saw the Dan about the same time (the tour was in support of "Cant't Buy A Thrill") at the Palace RThTheartere====tre in Providence. It was rough around the edges, but the spark was there...

re: does Steely Dan tour? NO!!! they haven't toured since 1974. They don't even have a band, if you look at their albums, you'll see that they sometimes feature a different band for each song! Donald Fagen (1/2 of SD, the other half is Walter Becker) said that they have no plans to tour in an interview published about a year ago.
