[comp.graphics] Isosurface Visualizer by NCSA

corkum@csri.toronto.edu (Brent Thomas Corkum) (09/07/90)

I just downloaded the Isosurface Visualizer from NCSA and have a few questions.
The first regards the documentation, I know its in BitHex format, but how
do I convert it to ASCII on my SGI 4D/25? I don't have access to a Mac, not
conveniently anyways. Another question regards examples. Are there any and
where are they (ie. names and locations!). Otherwise I can hardly wait
to try it, we're in the process of developing a volume visualization
tool for underground mining and are currently developing Marching Cubes
and Levoy Ray Tracing implementations, so we'd like to have something to
compare with.

Thanks,

Brent

According to the person who maintains our documentation, Word format,
Postscript format, and plain ascii text format will be available in a
couple of weeks; but as the case with most of our public domain software,
you could also order printed and bound versions from us. Just call
(217) 244-0072 and tell the receptionist you'd like to order documentation
and/or software. We also have a catalog you can ask for.
