Does anybody have any information on GIF compression/decompression?
Specifically, I need to know how to uncompress a GIF image. I know that
it uses a modified LZW compression, and I even know what the modifications
are! The problem is, I can't get ahold of any info on LZW compression. Every
document I've seen on GIF compression refers to an issue of IEEE Computer (June
1984 to be specific), but our library doesn't carry the magazine; I'm really
hoping for a document in machine-readable form. If someone has such a document,
or knows where one can be FTP'd, I'd really appreciate some info on it.

(BTW, my apologies if this has been covered before, but like I said, I don't
