I'm looking at frame grabbers for our VME-based Suns. Our application is real-time vision for a variety of robot systems. Our greatest need is to get full-color images from video cameras at full frame rate (30 frames/sec) and be able to access them from a Unix program (probably through memory mapping). Currently, we can get images from mapped memory at 15 frames/sec. I expect that full frame rate would require double-buffering with two frame buffers. Other attractive features would be: * Overlay planes * Simple on-board processing * Occupies few slots We have looked at Matrox's MVP board. Has anyone had any experience with this board? What other boards can do what we want? Thanks! Bill Ross Send Mail ----> wross@cs.cmu.edu
