Actually, I've seen 24 bit video done in real-time off of a CDC Wren
disk at NTSC resolutions.  30 fps.  It looked damned good.  It was
done using an Amiga and DCTV (Digital Creations TV).  Have
a look at some of the graphics stuff for the  Amiga and you'll be amazed.
