[comp.graphics] Help with finding .GIF viewers

00etbauer@bsu-ucs.uucp (Know thyself - or I'll have to bludgeon you.) (10/21/90)

I am a very amateur computer user, and I am looking for some sort
of .GIF file viewer for a IBM with VGA monitor.
If anyone out there can give me a hand, write/post/do anything
to get me the info.

Thanx very much.
Don't Panic.

As of this posting, there are hundreds of viewers to convert/view formats
such as TIFF, GIF, PCX ... The best news of all is they are FREE! Simply
log on to any of the BBS's (just about) and look under Grpahics and/or
utilities! It's really that simple.

By the way, if you're concerned about virus potential, use a BBS you're
most familiar with or check with a peer. The bottom line is your request
should not cost you much other than a little more 'looking'...

Good Luck....

One of the best GIF viewers around is Bob Montgomery's VPIC.

You can get it from Compuserve or many bulletin board systems.
