[comp.graphics] More X terminal benchmarks.

TEG@orc.olivetti.com (Tom Griner) (11/10/90)

I was doing some comparisons and came up with this list:
(your mileage may vary).

All figures are performance relative to NCD16 (1.00) w/68000CPU

      Color Color
NCD19 NCD17 HDS19 HDS21 Mic19 SparcS1 Test
3.08 2.10 4.05 3.91 4.41 9.89 Dot

 .99 .56 .71 .11 1.30 1.00 500x500 rectangle
1.40 1.83 .77 .75 1.86 3.75 100-pixel line segment (3 kids)
2.63 3.31 4.34 4.21 19.42 63.57 100x10 wide line

      1.000 1.29 1.02 .97 4.26 Char in 80-char image line (6x13)

The SparcStation was running X client & X server code on the same
system. This makes interprocess communication faster, but
forces once CPU to share the load.
