Can anyone give me a good definition of what New York Cheesecake
is exactly (as opposed to any other kind of cheescake.) I have
heard varying opinions.

As I understand it, the New York style is the one with the
sour cream top layer, or was it the other way around??

Have you ever had a "cheesecake" that you didn't like? Have
you ever had a "New York Style cheesecake" that you didn't
like. Who cares what the cook calls it, I'll eat it.

My understanding, not being particularly a cheesecake nut, is that
there are two general styles:  fluffy and creamy.  I've had cakes
that fit both of these descriptions, and they're quite different.
I think the New York style is the creamy one.
