Can anyone tell me where I can find information on the format of a TIFF graphics file? I'm also interested in PC Paintbrush and MS Paint formats, and any information regarding those would also be appreciated. Please mail any responses. Ok this query has probably been posted before and for this I apologise. At Concordia, we have suddenly developed a great need to convert a TIFF file to an ASCII format...(the line of work is OCR...)... any information... ie. TIFF format or even an algorithm to convert to ascii would be appreciated. Can anyone give me a reference on the TIFF format file structure. I am generating 256 bit gray scale images from my HP scanner on my MAC. I am saving them in a TIFF format. I would like to write a C program to process and display them. I can not find any explanation of what a TIFF file is. Are there any public domain (free) software for the MAC or DOS machine available??? Thanks in advance
