Texas A&M University Vizualtion Lab's "Creative Digital Exchange Group" is extending an open invitation for the exchange of creative data, such as image files, sound files, and interactive programs. Our purpose is to promote the sharing of data and the exchange of critiques through the global network. This group is made up of individuals interested in promoting communication among those involved in computer-based ( and electronically sharable ) creative works. Our goal is to exchange ideas about the shared works through "virtual critiques". We wish to establish relationships with individuals or groups interested in technology and the arts, and hope to join in collaborative creative projects as well. An ftp annonymous account is available for interested parties to send and recieve data. Some examples of the kinds of work which we are interested in are: Image files: various formats. Sound files: Macintosh & Next. Animation files: Wavefront, Softimage, Alias. Executables: Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, Macintosh and Next computers. C or C++ code written for: SGI 4Sight, Sunview and X window systems. Upon logging into our host computer "Archone", you will have the option to put data in the "in" directory or get files from the "out" directory. Because of limited storage space we can only accept compressed files with a limit of two megabytes.
