[net.cooks] Watergate Pudding, as promised

welch@osu-eddie.UUCP (Arun Welch) (03/12/85)

Here's the recipe for Watergate Pudding. I have no idea where the name
originated, except that I first had it '73.

	Watergate Pudding

This is a layered pudding, so I'm going to list the ingredients and
instructions seperately for each layer.

Layer I

 1 c Flour 2 tsp Sugar
 1/2 c Butter 1/2 c Chopped Pecans

Mix well in a 9*13(2 pan, and spread it flat. Bake at 350 F until a light
brown, aprox. 20 min., and allow it to cool.

Layer II

 8 oz Cream Cheese
2/3 c Confectioners Sugar (also known as powdered sugar)
7 oz Cool Whip ( or your favourite whipped topping)

Mix the cream cheese and the sugar well, and then mix in the Cool Whip.
Spread this on the *COOL* layer I. If Layer I is not cool, then the Cool
Whip melts, making a soggy mess. I know, I learned the hard way.

Layer III

2 Packages Instant Pistachio Pudding
2 1/2 c Cold Milk

Mix these well, and when the pudding gets thick enough, spread on top of
Layer II.

Cover layer III with the 7 oz of Cool Whip that's left, and then chill.

Serve chilled. If you can, use a glass pan to make this, as the layering
is visible, and people think you slaved for hours to make it. :-)
