[comp.graphics] How do I digitize Color Photographs or objects ???

tidedu@mars.lerc.nasa.gov (William T. Dedula) (11/20/90)

Hello All;
Does anyone know what type of equipment is required to
digitize Color Photographs or Pictures for display on an
IBM PC-XT/AT/386 ??? I see lots of .GIF files floating
around so I figure it must be done pretty regularly. If
anyone does know the answer to this question, I'd also
greatly appreciate it if they could give me an idea of
who the manufacturers are and also what I can expect to
pay for such equipment. Thank you very much !!!

With 1000 bucks you can get a very good color image scanner. If you want
to get digitized picture of real objects buy a digital video adaptor which
can be used with camcorder.
