angus@ (Angus Y. Montgomery) (12/07/90)
please mail any (non copyright) raytrace file format descriptions that you can get your greasy hands on to me. ftp locations are aok, and'll probably save a bit of bandwidth. software that reads the format(s) in a reasonably understandable form is fine. software that converts between formats is better. even if you've got no info about a format and just know a name i'd like to know (non PD formats are ok in this category). there are so many out there it's easy to miss one, but with a name at least there's some hope. we are making (future tense) a raytrace file format converter (PD) which will convert between any two formats (if possible) in one go. this is part of the effort for the renderer being built here. this may result in yet another (!) format. yours truly, gus. (well someone's gotta be a polite suck, why not me) i live at home, but you can mail me as: angus@godzilla.cgl.rmit.oz.au as usual, if there's interest i will post a compilation -- there is no signature
