[comp.graphics] Header description .TIFF wanted

bart@prisma.cv.ruu.nl (Bart M. ter Haar Romeny) (11/21/90)

I need the full description of the header in .TIFF image files (acquired
on a flatbed scanner), which include:
-the resolution
-title
-dot density
-etc.
Who knows where to find or to ftp this info?

A document describing the TIFF format is available via anonymous ftp from
alw.nih.gov(128.231.128.251), in the directory /pub/image.

What you are looking for is on SIMTEL20 archives PD1:<MSDOS.TIFF>TIFF-50.ZIP
(.ARC ?). I think that is the right filename, but ya might want to verify it.
This is the TIFF 5.0 specification from Aldus Software and Microsoft. All the
information you requested is there plus much, much more.
