This has probably been hacked to death, but I need to know some answers for some projects that I am planning on starting. First off, are there any shareware source or .LIB libraries for use with Turbo C++ 1.0 that can do fast 3d manipulations? Specifically, something that will let me do a reasonably fast 3d game for my own benefit. Also of interest, has anyone read that huge group of books by Lee Adams? Hi Perf. Graphics in C, Hi. Perf. CAD Graphics in C, Source Code Toolbox, etc.? I have all of his books, but they seem to suffer from VERY ugly code (as a matter of fact, I believe that it was converted from BASIC -- all global variables,no passed parameters, GOTO statements, the works). If you have read his books and know where I can find some pre-typed source, I would appreciate it. The next thing is, are 3rd Party graphics libraries such as MetaWindows REALLY any better than Borlands BGI library? BGI is pretty fast, at least compared to MicroSoft's. If you know the name of a decent 3d library for games or CAD, please let me know. I am interested in buying the software and registering. If you even know of a GOOD commercial library any opinions would be welcome (I have heard of Turbo Geometry, and that is it). books on writing good graphics oriented games would be appreciated too. Sorry if I overload everyone with requests, but please E-mail responses. I need addresses or phone numbers for shareware, since I am using a VAX with TELNET to get to the net and thus cannot download files from FTP. Thanks, Brian Hook
