[comp.graphics] 3d Objects

spworley@athena.mit.edu (Spaceman Spiff) (12/31/90)

There MUST be an FTP site with raw 3d description files for various objects.
I'm working on computer stereo vision and want to render stereo views of
various objects and compare the predicted/computed visual depth to the
"actual" depth. I would especially be interested in a head or body
object. I don't care what format the data is in- I'm willing to write a
conversion program. As a bonus, I'd love to have the objects for my raytracer-
:-)

If you have interesting objects, PLEASE e-mail me. The greater the variety of
objects, the better! Best case would be ftp sites with compressed ascii
tables of points, edges, and faces, of Amiga SA4D, TurboSilver, or Videoscape
format, because I can convert any of these fairly easily. (I use Imagine, from
Impulse for my raytracing.)

Thanks for any help! I appreciate it.

There is at least one for nff format.
It's irisa.irisa.fr (131.254.2.3) directory NFF.
I try to collect 3d scenes from different sources and convert them to nff.
Now there is about 30 nff files in this directory

polygonal patches. thanks
