Some time ago I asked this group what the best way to obtain a reference is. From the ten letters that I received, all ten agreed that your local library and the use of interlibrary loans (if necessary) are the best way to get references. Looks like I'll get to know my librarian pretty well. Two other methods that were mentioned are: contacting the author directly or contacting the publisher.
