[comp.graphics] Wanted - Video Frame Grabber 512x512x8 bits

reimann@hfh.edu (David A. Reimann) (01/10/91)

We are looking for a 512x512 frame grabber with 8 bits per pixel or
better for a Sun 3/160 or Sun 4/150 with a VME interface.
Any suggestions on possible vendors (or bad choice vendors) would be
greatly appreciated.

Datacube's Digimax board will let you do this. You can then add on other
boards from them (ROI manipulators, image processors, etc) piecewise.
They have an external bus between boards so that it doesn't hog VME traffic.

They have a software suite called MaxVideo that I personally think sucks,
although many love it. There is a public domain package called Zebra from
University of Rochester that reputably makes a pretty good interface to the
boards.

Good luck.
