Does anyone have information on approximation or interpolation routines in spherical coordinates? I am interpolating air temperature data on the surface of the earth and would like to compare methods. Currently, I only have simple inverse- distance routines (Willmott et al, 1985, Am. Cart.) and a polyhedron-based method (Renka, 1984, ACM Trans. Math. Soft.). Specifically, it would be nice to have spherical B-spline routines or a spherical version of Akima's bivariate interpolant. I will summarize on the net if there is sufficient interest. ****************************************************************** Scott Robeson | Internet: robeson@brahms.udel.edu Department of Geography | Bitnet: geo24674@udelvm.bitnet University of Delaware | Phone: (302) 451-8678 ******************************************************************
