[net.cooks] Cookbook recommendation

I'd like to recommend a cookbook. I haven't seen anyone
else make reference to it, though I'm sure that a lot of you out
there own it and love it. I'm talking about The Silver Palate
Cookbook. It is wonderful. Almost every recipe sounds great and
I've made a few, and I have to say that they taste as good as
they sound. This is definitely gourmet cooking, but I don't think
it is difficult. Some of the recipes do take some time, but you
can't expect greatness in 10 minutes. The dessarts are amazing,
but forget about the diet. That's true for most of the recipes,
actually. They don't skimp when it comes to butter or cream. They
also use a lot of ingrediants that you might have some trouble
finding, but it's well worth the search.
To give you some background, the authors own a store in
Manhattan called The Silver Palate. They specialize in gourmet
food, and they charge gourmet prices, from what my friend tells me.
He said that a jar of their jam goes for $10! I'm sure that it's
cheaper to make it yourself! Another reason to go out and buy the
book - the only way you'll be able to afford food like this is
if you cook it yourself.

	Good eating!
