Greetings! Yesterday I received and installed my HP ScanJet Plus scanner for a research project. Much to my dismay, it creates nice TIFF files but I don't see an option for straight ASCII. Un- fortunately I need ASCII for one application in image analysis. Are there any good, reliable PD programs out there to convert TIFF (or PCX or even GIF) to ASCII, preferably giving me the image dimensions in pixels before it writes the file (although I can always determine this... but it would be helpful).
