Hey there gang... I'm interested in creating a list of FTP sites for public domain raytracers and solid modelers. I will post the list in a couple of weeks if there seems to be enough interest in it. What I need from all of you (or y'all if yer from Lousianna:-), however, is the information required to compile the list. If you happen to know where there are raytracing or solid modeling programs (be they source, executables, or whatever, for any machines, even Commodore 64's or TRASH-80 Color Computers) I'd really appreciate it if you would pass that information over to me via e-mail. Of course if this has already been done (and I foolishly ignored it), could somebody send me a copy of the list. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance on behalf of myself, and on the behalf of the Rome New York Chapter of the Society for the Restoration and Preservation of the Red M&M... -Andy ******************************************************************************* * Harold G. There is a list of known anonymous ftp sites posted pseudo regularly to comp.archives. From the current list I keep on my pc (which is probably somewhat outdated (the list not the pc :-)) I did a search for the string 'ray' and got the following: pawl.rpi.edu (128.113.10.2) iear.arts.rpi.edu (128.113.6.10) cs.oregon.edu (128.223.4.13) weedeater.math.yale.edu (130.132.23.17) I have similiar lists done on the search for the strings 'graph' and 'gif' as well, but I've not had a chance to look through those archives yet. Another site is alfred.ccs.carleton.cs (don't know ip addr). That is where code for DKBTrace is stored (or, rather, one of the places it's stored). Hope this helps somewhat. -- Mike Castle (Nexus) S087891@UMRVMA.UMR.EDU (preferred) | ERROR: Invalid mcastle@mcs213k.cs.umr.edu (unix mail-YEACH!)| command 'HELP' Life is like a clock: You can work constantly, and be right | try 'HELP' all the time, or not work at all, and be right twice a day. |
