I am involved with a project, a small part of which will involve tiny bitmaps of people's faces used as icons. I would like to use a standard, but as the witticism goes: there are so many from which to choose. Face related things I've found so far are: 1) Usenix FaceSaver(tm) archive on uunet 2) faces.1.4 from richb@sunaus.sun.oz.au 3) Bennet Yee's "face" format (translators in pbmplus) Judging by volume and ambition 1) seems the defacto standard. But if so, why does 2) not use FaceSaver directly? All opinions are welcome. Any leads to code which actually uses FaceSaver bitmaps are especially welcome. --- Tom Bereiter TIVOLI Systems, Inc. twb@tivoli.com 6034 West Courtyard, Suite 210 (512) 794-9070 [794-0623 fax] Austin, TX 78730
