I am writing a Mac based application that converts various Mac file formats to/from SGI based formats. I would like to include an Alias read/write utility but we are not Alias customers so I don't have access to any Alias image files. I do have a couple of very old Alias files (1987?) but I would like something more current. I can use the SGI toalias and fromalias utilities, but I'm not sure how much, if at all, the Alias file format has been modified (if at all) since these utils were written. The files don't have to be large - approx. 200 x 150 would do (although approx. 640 x 480 would be nice). Specifically, I would like one image that has rendered geometry that extends to the edge of the frame and another image in which the geometry does not extend to the edge of the frame. If anyone has some documentation that describes the file format, that also would be much appreciated (I have a description, but it is not very comprehensive). The preferred method of sending via e-mail would be to tar the images into one single tar file, compress that tar file, and then uuencode it. If on a Mac - Stuffed and BinHex'd. Thanks in advance for any help. Bob Munroe TOPIX Computer Graphics and Animation, Inc. topix@utcs.utoronto.ca Work phone number: 416.971.7711
