What does anybody know about PV-wave and IDL. A year ago they were essentially the same product but now it seems IDL has split off from PV-wave. Has anybody dealt with these companies? How are the products? Tom Hearn -- Tom Hearn hearn%bat.tn.cornell.edu hearn@geology.tn.cornell.edu erdj@cornellf.bitnet

I don't know about PV-wave, but IDL is an excellent platform under which to do your number crunching and image processing. It's flexible, fast, and NASA uses it for a good deal (if not most) of its imaging. Remember those first few Hubble Space Telescope images? They were all loaded into, processed, and displayed with IDL. It's also very easy to use.
