I am looking for a simple graphics library that I can use with some FORTRAN programs to generate 2d graphics on the Macintosh. Simple commands like drawpoint(x,y) drawline(x1,y1,x2,y2) etc. This would be very easy on an IBM PC using GWBASIC or something like that, but how does one do this on a mac.? I have a copy of MacX and am interested in X-Windows. I believe that an X based solution would be ideal. In the future, the program generating the graphics will be on a remote machine, and some interaction with the graphics would help steer the simulations that I will be doing. Does anyone know of any simple X libraries (extentions, widget sets) that will allow me to call from my FORTRAN program a open window call. Then a plot point call, and draw line call. All 2D graphics mind you. I know that I would sort through the Xlib books, or one of the many different widget sets, but I only want some simple calls, and no X_OPENWINDOW_SIMPLE_...etc.. Or is there any graphic libraries for the Macintosh to do this simple kind of 2d graphics.?? Public domain or commercial.
