[comp.graphics] What's your favorite SGI animation software?

jlow@nntp-server.caltech.edu (J. Alan Low) (02/18/91)

If you could choose between Thomson Digital Image's Explore, Alias
Power Animator, and Wavefront's Advanced Visualizer, which would you choose?
Assume, for the moment, that the software costs the same.

If you use one of these animators, what do you like/hate about it? How
bug-free is it? Is customer support good? Are there any circumstances in
which you'd feel that it would be advantageous to own more than one company's?

I'll probably get the chance to demo these packages soon, and I'd like to
know if there are any quirks in any of these programs I should watch for.
The department I work for will be animating chemistry topics for educational
purposes; however, "flashy"-ness counts for something too!

Please reply to me even if you only have time to write I like This
Software in the subject line and nothing else. I'll count up the replies
and post a summary if there's enough interest.
