I have 2 questions concerning (color) monitors: 1. I've recently seen a VGA monitor hooked to a MAC LC. Is this the exact same standard that the IBM AT uses? The Sony monitor was listed as being "Macintosh compatible" -- would this be merely a marketing ploy or is there really something different about the electronics (like ability to track different sync rates)? 2. Is it possible to (with the proper interface) adapt a VGA output to standard R-G-B coax lines? If the required interface is more than just a connector change, how complex/costly would the circuitry be? Pointers to commercial units or actual circuitry would be much appreciated as this would save me the cost of a new monitor. -Dave lauben@star

My understanding is that the timing of the video signals is not EXACTLY the same as IBM's VGA "standard" and therefore some monitors either will not work or else must be adjusted (sometimes internally) to work acceptably.
