[comp.graphics] pixel graphics data manipulation

mcginty@aldetec.oz.au (Michael Mcginty) (03/15/91)

I am looking for information on manipulation of pixel data represented as
xy coordinates on a screen. Specifically I am working on generating a data
buffer of pixel coordinates of the outline, or profile, of images captured
by a CCD camera and frame buffer. I perform standard graphics solutions
such as rotation, scaling and perspective correction to the resulting data.
I would like information on techniques such as low pass filtering of the
data, or smoothing, which reduce the affects of "noisy" pixels. In particular
I am interested in techniques which do not consume valuable processing time
as this is a real time application.

Looking forward to hearing from all you graphics wiz kids!
