The BEST beef jerkey I have ever had, I made from an old
"Galloping Gormet" show:

Needed:
Thin sliced GOOD beef (Oriental markets often have
"Sukiyaki" strips) - Get a pound or two.

	Tamari style soy sauce.

	A plastic bag.

	Toothpicks. (round work best)

Take the beef, dump it in the bag, pour the tamari sauce over it,
mush it around, press the air out and tie off the bag.

Throw the whole mess in the refridgerator for a day or two.

Take the beef strips out, put a toothpick thru one end of each
beef strip.

Hang each piece in the oven by putting the beef strip between the
wires on the grill, supported by the toothpick.

If you want it to be done quick, turn the oven on to the lowest
setting you can get and leave the oven door slightly open. Just
letting them sit in there with only the pilot light running also
works.

I don't know how long it takes to completely dry them, in my
house, they were "sampled" out of existance before they could
fully dry. Taste great.
