[comp.graphics] 3D CORE applications?

jdb9608@isc.rit.edu (J.D. Beutel) (04/12/91)

Please excuse me if this has been asked before.

We're writing our own implementation of CORE in an intro graphics class.
CORE is an old graphics programming standard which many text books
have been based upon.

Are there any 3D application programs for CORE, or am I dedicated
to a purely intellectual exercise here?

A nearby startup company, Dimention Technologies, has got a
neat little 3D display which requires no wearing of glasses.
I think it would be a fun project to convert my CORE implementation
to this device, but there's not much point if nobody has ever
actually done anything with CORE.

If not, then can anyone suggest some other device-independent set
of graphics routines which some nice 3D programs have been based on?
(Public domain 3D programs hopefully, so I can get the source and
link it to the library routines I write.)

Thank you thank you thank you.
