[comp.graphics] MS vs PhD

thamer@cis.ohio-state.edu (M T ) (04/20/91)

For industry jobs in computer graphics, is it better to have a
PhD or a MS degree? I've heard arguments on both sides and would
appreciate hearing from more people in the know.

  Thanks,

It depends on the specifics of the job. Some jobs require a Ph.D. or
equivalent. Others are easier to get if you have a Ph.D. Many
employers, on the other hand, will prefer candidates who spent the 5
years on more product related work.
