[comp.graphics] GIF editor needed

(Yes, I checked the FAQ...)

I'm looking for an X Windows or pc (EGA) compatible GIF editor. I need
to read in GIF files and add lines, rectangles, possibly text, and
then write the resulting image back out in GIF.

X Windows preferred, but EGA is acceptable and would be appreciated.
Any leads?
