It seems as though most PHIGS people use PHIGS to refer to both PHIGS88 and PHIGS-PLUS. I do not really care what terms refer to - I would like to have common definitions for the terms. It seems the most common usage is for PHIGS to refer to PHIGS88 + PHIGS-PLUS. The sort of follows the precedent set by FORTRAN. FORTRAN refers to the latest version or all versions. FORTRAN66, FORTRAN77 and FORTRAN8X refer to specific versions. Another possible term is ANSI-PHIGS and ISO-PHIGS, since PHIGS-PLUS will not become and ANSI standard.
