I am trying to connect a Raster Technologies Frame Buffer to an HP-9000 Series 300 computer running HP-UX, a UNIX clone. I have connected it onto the RS232 line, and am able to send data down to the frame buffer, but the returning data from data readbacks is not functioning correctly. Here's what happens: I can send the readback command, such as READCR 0, which should return the value of Coordinate Reg. 0. When reading from the serial line, (/dev/ttyd01), which has been redirected from stdin and stdout, I miss a few characters. In the READCR, if the return value were " 00012", I only get "012" back at the program reading the input line. However, the terminal connected to the frame buffer along the same line (but farther away down the line) has a problem... When returning out of graphics mode, and we press <Enter> from the terminal, we get the nice error "00: Not found". Obviously, we now know where the 00 went, but I still have no way of reading these values properly at the current time. If you have any suggestions, please reply via E-Mail, as time is of the essence. The Masters Project is due by 5/7/91. HELP!!! Thanx for your time...
