Attention, Graphic Artists, Designers, and Graphics Hackers!

  >> IEEE CG&A Seeks New Logo <<

IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications is holding a contest
to find a new computer-generated logo (the graphic presentation
of the magazine's name as it appears on the cover). CG&A's first
ever computer graphics contest challenges computer graphics
professionals and students to show off their skills and the
capabilities of their art, design, drawing, or publishing software.

** How to enter:
To enter, design an attractive, distinctive logo of the words
"IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications". To be consistent with
the magazine's design, use a sans serif font and focus on the words
"Computer Graphics".
All entries must be in black and white. The final design must fit
within a space 8-1/8 by 2 inches (or 49 by 12 picas).
The month and year of the issue will appear somewhere near the
logo, so if you want to, integrate them into your design.
  Send a laser-printed proof, a disk of your work, and a filled-in
copy of the official entry form (see the deadline section below for
the address of the magazine, from which official entry forms may be
requested). The disks can be PC (5-1/4 inch) or Apple Macintosh
(3-1/2 inch) disks. The electronic version must be in one of the
following formats:
PC disks: EPS, TIFF, .PCX, .IMG, CorelDraw
Mac disks: EPS, TIFF, SunRaster, MacPaint, MacDraw, PICT2, Freehand
Note that Postscript is not necessarily the same as EPS; we
require EPS (Encapsulated PostScript).

** Prizes:
The winner receives $100 and a subscription to CG&A. Up to
three finalists will also receive a subscription to CG&A, and all
finalists will be published in January 1992.

** Deadline:
All submissions and official entry forms must be received by
October 15, 1991. Send entries (and requests for entry forms) to
