There has been a lot of discussion lately in this group on computer generated holograms, stereograms, etc. I looked at this a few years ago but was not in a position to do anything about it. However ...the recent discussion has got me interested again Now I have access to a relatively fast mainframe (and it's basically free) A very large amount of disk space if I need it (gigabytes) I have a number of hardcopy devices at my disposal - A0 size HP plotters (0.1mm pens) - 4000 line slide maker - 300, 600, 1200, and 2400 DPI Laserwriters Choice of good 3D modelling and rendering packages. I am now also an experienced C and Fortran programmer with a programming backgound in 3D modelling and signal processing (acoustic). So tell me...is it possible for me to generate some sort of hologram? If so, how? If not, why?

Probably the easiest way is to write to edmund scientific, and get their catalog. They have home made holographic kits that you can buy. Well, they did 10 years ago. So, you should check that first. Their address is in any Popular Science magazine. Will.....
