Hi, We would like to know of if there are other graphics developmental systems similar to the GKS (or based on GKS) for the IBM PC family and their relative advantages and disadvantages over GKS in terms of speed, memory. Our present interface uses GKS and the C language and is slow as an an interface and therefore we are exploring other possibilities. If there are netters out there who have experience with such systems, can you please share your ideas. We would very much like a system that can be learnt quickly and supports different input, output devices such as mice, keyboard, plotters etc. GKS supports programming in FORTRAN or C and it would be preferable if we can program the system using a relatively higher level language such as C. Please direct all replies via e-mail (avr@cs.duke.edu) as i don't often read this newsgroup. Thanks in advance for your help. --Ramesh
