[comp.graphics] TIGA Interface

I have heard about a TIGA standard that is supposed
to work on almost all TI cards. Does anybody has
this standard in writing? Could I obtain a copy?

Hello, fellow netters!

I work for a company called 'emt', creating different utilities and
programs to the well-known CAD program AutoCAD for PC's, Sparc, Mac
and other machinery supporting ye olde ACAD.

What I now want to do, is to draw some graphics on the display the
user has for his AutoCAD, wich is often a large (1600x1280x256 color)
display.

My requirements:
* 256 color support
* Program the palette
* Set and Read a pixel
* Draw a line
* Print text

Thats ALL I need to do on the display. I have tried to use Autodesk ADI
interface for AutoShade, but have failed heavily, since most display driver
builders have faithfully ignored the ADI 4.0 - 4.1 specification, creating
special hacks and don't support certain packets arriving in arbitrary order
(but only the order that AutoShade is supposed to send them), so when my
program tries to 'fool' the driver, pretending to be AutoSHade, it works
sometimes, on some screens, but not always....

Now, ALMOST ALL OF THESE SCREENS ALSO HAS A 'TIGA' Driver!

What I would like to know is:

* How do I program/use a TIGA driver
* Do I need a library to do it?
* SOmbody HAS one? (small please ;-) mem'ry's tight :-)
* Sombody knows ANYTHING

As I said, all I need to do is initialize the display, program palette,
draw lines and set pixels and do simple text. But if there is a routine
for round-edged drop-shadowed rectangles I'm listening!

THANKS for any help.

Email responses are welcome, but I read this newsgroup fairly regularly
so a post will probably not go unnoticed....

/Z
