I intend to make a graphics card of my own to the least possible costs. It should be able to get the resolution of an ordinary PAL signal (which is 625 lines (interlaced)), horizontal resolution should be about equal. (Maybe 640 is a good number (?)). VRAM should be 3 bytes per pixel (24-bit colour). Is there anyone with a suggestion on a processor that is capable of controlling this hardware (i.e. generating sync and controlling the VRAM refresh and so on), that doesn't cost a hell of a lot of money. (something =< $ 50 or so). Maybe the Yamaha videoprocessor range 99x8 is capable of more colours?? These chips are quite cheap. Please e-mail any reply, I'm gonna be out some time...
