[comp.graphics] How to filter out jitter on touch screen input?

I'm writing a driver for accepting touch screen input.  The problem is
that I see lots of jitter, probably because people's fingers wobble...
then again, maybe it's the touchscreen.  I also see occational stray
points.

Does anyone know of a good filter algorithm that would filter out the
wobbling but still generate a correct series of points for finger painting?
