Hi All, I have some images in array (char) format on a Sun that I need to bring down to the mac. I used "array2ras" from the alv package to convert the image to a raster, then tried the following... 1) Tried using "ras2tiff" from the TIFF software package but it never worked. I just compiled the version 2.2 of the TIFF package without any problems but no luck with the conversion. 2) Used "ras2pnm" and "pnmtotiff" from the pbmplus package. I think pbmplus does some compression with the TIFF, so image on the Mac can not read it. 3) Just downloaded a program called "color converter" for the Mac, which is supposed to read rasters, but did not work either. Now does anyone have a clue to whats happening. A friend of mine used to have a copy of "ras2tiff" that used to work. But he graduated, so I need a working copy of this tool. I have access to a Sun 3 and a Sparc 2 both running under BSD 4.3 unix. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Adobe Photoshop is able to read raw image data like that directly if you provide with rows/cols/channels information. You can then save the image in any format you like. I belive Image has this ability also, but is limited to grayscale only.
